Prague 6 presented a new logo | PRAGUE 6 | News
Prague 6 presented a new visual identity. The town hall presented its own logo, as the very first district in Prague, already in 2005. But this no longer corresponds to the current visual style of cities.
“At that time, the logo was modern, it was functional, but it turned out over time, as the advent of modern communication technologies, that it simply did not fit well. When, for example, some documents were scanned, the documents and the logo appeared unreadable, or when they became too small, for example in a digital environment, they were unable to respond, and we needed something that would be really functional,” said Ondřej, the mayor of Prague 6 Wheeler.
The ReDesign studio is behind the new visual of the Prague 6 logo. When creating it, the designers bet on menthol color, simplicity and timelessness.
“When creating the logo, we based the emblem of the city district of Prague 6 on the historic one, and we actually wanted to intersect tradition and modernity in some way. From our point of view, turquoise was perceived as a nod to nature, to a clean environment, and we actually wanted a color that seemed to have life in it,” explained logo designer Petr Krejzek
The new logo of the town hall management was presented at the Bubeneč Brewery, which also prepared a light six-level beer special for the town district on this occasion.
“It is of course a live, unpasteurized, unfiltered beer, but alcohol-wise, given how weak the beer is, it is relatively strong. We fermented it completely dry, and basically ninety percent of the taste is played by the hops,” said Michal Nusko, head brewer of Pivovar Bubeneč.
The new Prague 6 beer, which is available on tap directly at the Bubeneč Brewery, celebrates the new visual identity of the city district and commemorates the connection of Bubeneč to Prague, the 100th anniversary of which has passed this year.
