The Prague 6 district today presented a new visual identity and also its own beer. The new Prague 6 logo was presented at the Bubeneč Brewery, which also prepared a light six-level beer special for the city district for the occasion. The logo focuses on mint color, simplicity and timelessness.
“Prague 6 is unique in that it is used to setting trends,” says the mayor
The Czechdesign company helped with the organization of the Prague 6 public two-round competition. “A total of 76 proposals were gathered and a jury decided between them. The jury included experts and representatives of the Prague 6 district. The jury unanimously agreed on the winning proposal, which is proudly presented here today.” stated the press spokesman of Prague 6 on the spot Jiří Hannich.
“Prague 6 is exceptional in that it is used to setting trends. It was the first district to introduce its own logo in 2005 in addition to the coat of arms. Unfortunately, over time, it became clear that the logo, which appeared to be very modern at the time, did not fully meet all the needs of the city district. moreover, nowadays it no longer fulfills the function and what is expected of a logo. Thanks to the competition, we found a simple, compact and clearly recognizable visual identity,” the mayor of Prague 6 told the journalists present Ondrej Kolar (ODS).
“It is true that the office has so far lacked a comprehensive and unified line of communication. I am therefore glad that the new visual identity that we are unveiling today fulfills what is expected of it, i.e. that it will be comprehensible, functional, understandable, and I wish Prague 6 that the new visual identity serves and suits it,” Kolář added.
Prague 3 presented a new logo yesterday. The red inscription Prague is complemented by three thin asymmetrical lines. The authors of the new visual identity of Prague 3 are Jakub Vaněk and Barbora Micajová from Jakub Vaněk Studio. The logo immediately earned the attention of the Internet…
Prague 6 will be menthol
“In the beginning, we thought about how to conceive the logo, whether to create pictograms and something that would look fancy. We went beyond the basic shape of the Prague 6 emblem and created a brand that seems static, not very emotional, but emotions are manifested in various interactions,” said its author when presenting the logo to journalists Petr Krejzek from the ReDesign studio.
According to the author, he perceived the local patriotism of Prague 6. “We wanted to add modern elegance to the logo, so that it doesn’t look dated and historical. We want the logo to be timeless and last at least ten years. We also strove for a dignity that would stand out, for example, on letterheads,” described by the author.
“We thought for a long time about how to conceive the visual style of Prague 6. We researched all the parts of Prague that are mostly blue, yellow or red. We thought that we had to somehow make Prague 6 more visible, but embody the idea that it has a genius loci and that it is based on green environmentalism, clean air. Stromovka or Podbaba creates a special enclave from Prague 6. We went with the color green, but after various discussions we wanted to add the action of the future or energy, so we created this teal, menthol, which is synonymous with activity. It is a color that has a living potential,” added Krejzek.
Those present christened the logo with a six-step special from Pivovar Bubeneč, where the presentation of the new visual identity took place. “It is a fermented beer thanks to the added enzyme. It’s a six, so it’s somewhere between two and a half to three percent alcohol, and from a hop perspective, it’s quite interesting because we used the Pink Boots hop blend, which is made to support women in the food industry. It’s a combination of about three different American hops that makes this beer beautifully aromatic.” the brewery’s brewer said at a press conference Michal Nusek.
