You should not miss these presentations of Bitcoin Amsterdam
In exactly one week, the largest Bitcoin event ever in the Netherlands will start: The Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam will be all about Bitcoin Amsterdam from October 12 to 14. An event that focuses on bringing Bitcoiners together in Europe and beyond. Start the anticipation with this article and check out speakers you should not miss.
Spread over two days and various stages, a large number of Bitcoiners will be speaking at Bitcoin Amsterdam. Look at here the full list of speakers and here the full agenda. The third day (Friday 14 October) is devoted to music and networking. There will be no presentations of workshops that day.
In chronological order a number of presentations that we will certainly attend:
On the first day (Wed 12 Oct) at 11:00 at the Sats Stage Bert Slagter about Bitcoin adoption in Europe and the associated consequences, stumbling blocks, opportunities and dangers. Bert is one of the hosts of the podcast Satoshi radio and author of the ‘Our Money is Broken’ book.
- The future of side chains
Shortly after Bert’s presentation, the presentation ‘The future of sidechains’ will take place in the Moon area (the main stage) at 11:55 am. Bitcoin Journalist Aaron of Wirdum together with researcher Paul Sztorc and CEO of Blockstream, discuss, Adam Back, the future of side chains. A sidechain is a separate blockchain from the mechanism that originated on the Bitcoin blockchain. Transactions can be made on these sidechains with improved privacy or lower costs.
- FATF and the threat to Bitcoin’s privacy
The strong panel consisting of Stephan Livera, Kevin Murcko, Sjors Provoost, Patrick Odell and Matt Odell will discuss the implications of the emerging Travel Rule on Wednesday at 13:10 on the mainstage. This new law will impact Bitcoin businesses, customers and the privacy of some Bitcoin users.
- Lightning Scaling Challenges
This panel, consisting of Sergei KotliarAaron van Wirdum, Rafael Cordon, Ben Arc and Roy Sheinfeld will discuss the future of the Lightning Network. The still new technology Lightning is the future of Bitcoin as a means of payment and is currently growing rapidly in the number of users and future applications. This panel takes place on Wednesdays at 2:15 PM at the Sats Stage.
Thursday at 11:20 am at the Moon Area (main stage) will Marc van der ChijsAlfonso Peccatiello, Willem Middelkoop and Marc Friedrich discussed the relationship between the euro and bitcoin. In times of never beforea particular macroeconomic landscape and the possible upcoming bitcoin adoption.
