Uisp Siena, Duccio Bernardi Italian cadet champion of the disco launch
Great performance of the young Uisp Atletica Siena rider Duccio Bernardi who in Caorle is crowned Italian Cadet Champion of the discotheque launch with 40.15m.
Born in 2007, already on the podium (bronze medal) in 2021, Bernardi arrived at the national competition with the best Italian accreditation of the year (41.11m) in the under 16 category.
In the young gareli, however, athletes are in continuous growth and development, so much so that you predict the workouts on the performance established during the year, they are often overturned.
After a first jump at 39.37m that placed him at the head of the race, Bernardi was in fact overtaken at the second jump by the Apulian Francesco D’Angelo, who took the lead with 40.01m.
After a null on the second jump, and the two attempts under 39m on the third and fourth jump, the Sienese was able to find the right jump with coldness at the fifth entry on the platform, throwing the tool from 1.5 kg to 40.15m, size not more surpassed by the other athletes in the competition.
The joy of success must also be shared with the technician Elena Calzeroni, who takes care of the throwing sector of Uisp Atletica Siena (together with Gianclaudio Petreni), and who, pending the conclusion of the work at the Renzo Corsi School Field in Siena, has carried out training in throwing technique, bringing Bernardi and the other throwers, twice a week on the Grosseto track.
The Italian Cadet Championships are an event that takes place for regional representatives; with his successor Duccio Bernardi he thus gave a fundamental contribution to the FIDAL Toscana team – led by the President of Uisp Atletica Siena Stefano Giardi, on the occasion with the role of regional technical trustee – came third in the men’s and sixth in the combined men’s ranking and women.
