Veganz opens new production facility in Austria
On October 4, 2022, Veganz Group AG is opening its third production facility, this time in Spielberg, Austria. Since the demand from retailers and consumers for the state-owned Cashwebert is so high that the capacities in the production facility in Berlin, Prenzlauer Berg, which opened in 2020, are no longer sufficient, the cheese alternative is now being produced at another production site. The opening will be celebrated on site with representatives from the press, well-known influencers and Veganz friends.
The vegan alternative to a camembert consists of only six ingredients and is free from soy, palm oil and additives. It gets its authentic taste from the same starter and noble mushroom cultures. These support the fermentation of the cashew and macadamia nuts and give the Cashewbert its typical white rind.
According to the company, the Veganz Cashewbert not only impresses with its mild taste, but also with its sustainability. Compared to an animal camembert, which causes 1.397 g CO2, the cashewbert with 533 g CO2 per 175 g emits just a third of the emissions. In addition, the cheese substitute is certified organic and packed in a sustainable cardboard box.
“We are very pleased that we can now open our third production facility,” says Jan Bredack, CEO and founder of Veganz Group AG. “With our investments in smaller, temporary production facilities for the in-house production of our meat, fish, cheese and egg alternatives, we are guaranteeing a largely liquidity-friendly ramp-up. In addition, this way enables us to adapt quickly to the respective demand situation and minimizes the production start-up risks”.
