The Sir Stelios Foundation raised 340,000 euros for the environment
The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation organized a large charity dinner in Monaco on September 30, which Prince Albert II attended.
It was in the conference room of his Foundation, on the Port of Monaco, that Monegasque resident Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou gathered his guests for a large charity dinner. An event attended by the Sovereign Prince, as well as Marco Lambertini, Director General of WWF International.
No fewer than 70 philanthropists were invited to this dinner. At the end of the evening, 340,000 euros were raised for the benefit of the Prince Albert II Foundation and WWF.
Each organization therefore received 170,000 euros, a sum which should support them in their work to preserve monk seals in the Mediterranean, a species threatened with extinction. According the site of the Pelagos Sanctuaryit is even one of the six most endangered mammals in the world, with a population of only 150 individuals today, compared to 1,000 in 1978.

The 340,000 euros raised constitute a record amount for this annual event, which celebrated its tenth edition on September 30. Since its creation in 2013, nearly 1.6 million euros have been recognized by the Sir Stelios Foundation, in favor of the preservation of the environment, a theme more than ever defended by the Principality and the Sovereign.
