Lock Screen One: place the text you want on your locked screen
On the locked screen of iOS 16, you can place the weather, your reminders, the battery indicator, the stock market or many widgets from your applications. But what if you just want to place text? There’s a free app for that.
Lock screen 1 allows you to enter your favorite phrase, a famous quote or any other text and then integrate it into the blocked screen via a widget. The app gives four different fonts to choose from and a few other customization options. You can create up to 8 different widgets.
Lock Screen One’s widgets are not only used to look pretty, they can also be used to open a website in one tap or to launch a shortcut, an excellent idea. In the example below, I’ve linked the phrase “Think different” to the opener of apple.com, but we can choose any other website, like Steve Jobs Archive.
Lock Screen One works very well on its own. The small problems that can arise are related to the management of widgets by iOS, which is still subject to bugs (sometimes you have to restart the app or the blocked screen for the latest changes to appear). The app, made by the prolific Sindre Sorhusis completely free.
