Prague – Representatives of the coalition Spolu (ODS, TOP 09 and KDU-ČSL) and Praha Sobě (PS) met today at the headquarters of the Prague ODS in Prague 1. The subject of the meeting was mainly the election program. At the same time, Praha presented Spolu with a request to find out the meeting between Spolu, Pirates, STAN and PS. This has been rejected by Spolu for the time being, as it prefers a coalition on the ground plan of the government one, i.e. Spolu, Pirates and STAN. Representatives of Prague Sobě and Spolu told journalists today. The post-election negotiations started already after all the votes were counted last weekend, when the winning coalition Together stated that it was a priority for them to form a coalition on the government’s blueprint, i.e. with STAN and the Pirates. Spolu won the elections in Prague ahead of ANO and Pirates.
“Our opinion is fine. At the same time, we arranged our program of Prague Sobě, Piráti and STAN to meet in the format of four subjects. So such an invitation was rejected for the time being,” said the leader of the PS and mayor of Prague 7, Jan Čižinský.
Spolu leader and former mayor Bohuslav Svoboda (ODS) said that the negotiating teams mainly talked about the functioning of Prague and its management, housing and transport solutions were also discussed. “We had the opportunity to hear their opinions,” said Svoboda, who reiterated that Spolu is trying to create a coalition on the government’s blueprint. “It gives Prague the greatest opportunity to benefit. We listened to them like from other parties, we are interested in their opinions and we were happy to hear them,” he added.
Today, the Pirates and STAN repeated their position, which they carried out in the past negotiations, that in their opinion it would be good to establish a coalition built not only on the government’s plan, but also together with the PS. Svoboda has repeatedly refused today. Deputy chairman of the ODS, Prague representative and negotiator Spolu Zdeněk Zajíček said that the parties have different opinions, for example, in the field of transport or construction in Prague.
The coalition Together for Prague won the municipal elections in Prague this year, winning 19 mandates in the council, which has 65 members. ANO ended second with 14 mandates. The third Pirates will have 13 representatives. Čtvrtá Praha Sobě has 11 mandates, five representatives will have STAN in fifth place. Sixth is the SPD with three mandates. 43.91 percent of voters took advantage of the election.
