Albert of Monaco was looking forward to attending a UN climate conference with King Charles. Environmental protection is a common topic.
The husband of Charlene of Monaco had recalled it in his message of congratulations following the accession to the throne of King Charles.
“I look forward to seeing the important work you have done throughout your life continue in the coming years. And more particularly the great attention that you pay to the questions of sustainability, the fight against global warming and the preservation of the oceans, of which we both know the primordial importance for the future of our planet, “wrote the Prince Albert of Monaco, in a message relayed by the Prince’s Palace.
“The population of Monaco joins me in extending to you our best wishes for health and prosperity.”
But the two sovereigns will not have the opportunity to see each other in New York.
The Palace has indeed confirmed that King Charles will not attend the UN climate conference, in which Prince Albert of Monaco participates.
A source says the decision was made jointly with Prime Minister Liz Truss and the government.
This confirms the end of King Charles’ environmental activism since his accession to the throne.
