AS Monaco and Wissam Ben Yedder shine against FC Nantes
AS Monaco largely won against FC Nantes (4-1), this Sunday afternoon at Louis II, on behalf of the 9th day of Ligue 1.
The game: 4-1
The international truce has obviously not stopped the beautiful Monegasque machine. After a success a fortnight ago against Stade de Reims (0-3), Philippe Clément’s men did it again against FC Nantes.
With enormous intensity deployed from the kick-off, Axel Disasi’s teammates paralyzed Nantes from the start by scoring two goals in the space of just five minutes (2′, 7′), in the wake of an untenable Ben Yedder-Embolo duo (see below).
A match start, which allowed ASM to roll out with two new goals from Wissam Ben Yedder (28′, 62′). In the second period, Philippe Clément had the privilege of being able to rotate his squad, Monaco quietly managing his lead, except on a final cross from Quentin Merlin, diverted into his own goal by Caio Henrique (79′).
A great success that allows AS Monaco to continue and consolidate its place in the top 5, with the podium still in sight, for the moment still occupied by Paris Saint-Germain, Olympique de Marseille and FC Lorient. Next meeting for Monaco, next Thursday (6:45 p.m.) in the Europa League against Trabzonspor.
The performance: Ben Yedder sees triple
And to think that he had scored only once this season in the league. Aligned alongside Breel Embolo at kick-off, the French international offered himself a small festival this Sunday afternoon at Louis II.
Immediately on the pace, like all of his teammates, Wissam Ben Yedder allowed Breel Embolo to open the scoring in the second minute of play after a strike repelled by Alban Lafont who took advantage of the Swiss international with a header .

A few minutes later, it was Ben Yedder who found his way to the net with a sublime dive of which he alone had the secret, on a header from Embolo. Before registering a double at the half-hour mark, on a service from Aleksandr Golovin.
Returning from the locker room, the Monegasque striker scored a third but from the penalty spot, following a foul in the penalty area on Kevin Volland. A great craftsman of Monaco cardboard, Wissam Ben Yedder may have definitively launched his season against Nantes. His agreement with Embolo is more and more attractive and augurs great hopes.
The number: 4
With this new success, AS Monaco recorded their fourth consecutive victory in Ligue 1.
The phrase : ” “
Youssouf Fofana: “We had a good game, we put all the ingredients, there is just this but unfortunately against our side. But it’s a fact of the game, we especially remember the victory. The game plan was to create a lot of chances in the first fifteen minutes. This is what the coach wanted and we managed to put it in place. The podium ? This is the goal, like every year. »
