We can’t stop the success of the brand O’Briens! After the opening of a first establishment at the end of 2018 rue des Trois-Journées in Jean Jaurès, then a second on the side of the square Arnaud Bernard, it is a third Irish pub of the same brand which is preparing to welcome its customers, this Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 6 p.m., in the heart of Toulouse.
After Jean-Jaurès and Arnaud Bernard, the Capitol!
This new O’Briens Irish Pub opens at number 39 rue Léon-Gambetta, close to the Capitol, instead of the Gambetta Bar. About 65m2the four employees hired in this modest pub will have 10 different beers on tapcomplemented by a small range of bottled beers.
To also accompany all this, the establishment will offer Restoration, with burgers, tapas, or even meats to share. It will be open every day of the week from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m., and from 2 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Saturdays.
Copper tanks… for 1,500 liters of house beer
“In this establishment, we have installed a brand new system of beer tanks”, supports David Vanpeperstraete, the manager. In view of customers, three beautiful copper tanks of 500 liters each will enable the pub to offer his own beer to its customers, called… O’Briens beer.
“This is the first equipment of its kind in the region. Installed in collaboration with the Montaner group (a beverage distributor, editor’s note), it allows us to have 1,500 liters of beer, without having to add any product, and avoiding barrel changes”.
Deliverers and waiters will no longer have to manage beer kegs!
“It’s a long-term investment”, continues the manager, convinced of having chosen a “innovative system that we will soon find elsewhere”. And to defend: “In the long term, we can imagine that all the bars are equipped with such tanks. It makes things easier for us when it comes to inventory management and logistics, and it improves labor conditions delivery people and servers who no longer have to manage beer kegs”.
Based on this system, the pub will therefore offer, every day from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., its new O’Briens beer during its happy hour : “With a free pint for each pint purchased”, chants the manager.
Soon new O’Briens in other neighborhoods?
Why open this third establishment in the heart of the Pink City, in a sector relatively close to the others? “The first two pubs are doing well,” confides David Vanpeperstraete, who does not hide his desire to open even more pubs.
“I created this small sign to make small unpretentious neighborhood bars out of it, in each district. So we are going to try to open others in the hypercentre, a sector that I know and where I master the commercial codes. My objective is already to open a new pub at Les Carmes”.
While the beer and bars that have been going to experience growing success in recent years in Toulouse, the manager claims a great passion for pubs… and for Ireland: “I confess my love for this country, which for me is the reference in our sector. Irish pubs are real life… There is everything: live music, conviviality, simplicity, and a slightly more elaborate range of beers”. So, shall we toast?
