Eauze. The Pays d’Armagnac partner of Toulouse Métropole
Last Wednesday, the Pays d’Armagnac signed a reciprocity contract with Toulouse Métropole to boost four areas of expertise.
On Wednesday September 21, Michel Gabas, president of the Pôle d’Equilibre Territorial et Rural du Pays d’Armagnac (PETR) and Jean-Luc Moudenc, president of Toulouse Métropole signed a reciprocity contract in the presence of the prefect of Gers, Xavier Brunetière . This contract, intended to develop relations between rural areas and urban areas, commits the two entities to act in 4 areas: ecological and energy transition, food, heritage and culture, tourism. For Michel Gabas, this contract feeds the ambition to make the transition an opportunity for economic development through job and wealth creation. “To meet this challenge, we cannot rely on our strengths alone. For me, cooperation is a lever for change”, to boost the projects carried out by the actors established in the PETR area, in the areas of the Recovery Contract and Ecological Transition, the Occitanie Territorial Contract or the European Leader Program. The 4 axes of this contract concern the ecological and energy transition to accelerate the transition in the 2 territories; food (the 2 partners are each committed to the implementation of a territorial food project which helps to bring production and consumption closer together); heritage and culture to promote more sites but also integrate them into a sustainable and innovative tourist offer, and tourism, the two territories having a complementary offer.
