The capital and the V. district broke up, jumping to a joint Christmas

It was already surprising and politically a bit spicy that one of the left-wing capitals and the right-wing Belváros would have entered into a joint business – as Napi.hu already reported. Of course, the situation was born out of necessity, because the V. district unexpectedly received the right to operate the suddenly nationalized Vörösmarty tér without being prepared for it.
The organization of the Christmas fair is not a matter of days or weeks, which is why Belváros has started negotiations with Budapest Brand, the Budapest company that organizes the fair. However, the deal ultimately fell through. The 5th district municipality informed our newspaper that there had been correct, multiple, partnership negotiations regarding the organization of the Vörösmarty Square Christmas fair, so far, but Budapest Brand could only have undertaken the organization of the fair in the case of a 2-year cooperation for business reasons, which is understandable from its own point of view.
“Given the responsibility assumed for the operation of Vörösmarty tér and for the people living here, the City Council of the City of Belváros wanted to establish a cooperation that is based on mutual satisfaction, on expected joint successes and, above all, on meeting the needs of the population, rather than on a pre-negotiated weekend. In view of all this, no agreement was reached between Budapest Brand and Belváros Municipality regarding the realization of this year’s fair. For this reason, further negotiations are underway, on which we will not be able to provide further information until they are concluded,” wrote the district management in a reply to Napi.hu.
Budapest Brand is currently not responding to our inquiry.
