Competition with Luxembourg At 11, they defended the colors of the ACL in Croatia
LUXEMBOURG – Four 11-year-old Luxembourgers represented the Grand Duchy, in Zadar, during a European road safety competition.
Reducing the risk of cycling accidents among children and improving traffic education around the world: this is the ambition of the European Traffic Education Contest (ETEC) organized by the International Automobile Federation ( FIA) in Zadar, Croatia, September 24-27.
Thanks to the support of the Automobile Club of Luxembourg (ACL), four young 11-year-old Luxembourgers flew to northern Dalmatia. Caroline Fischer, Emma Streveler, Giuliano Fandel and Max Kunen carried the colors of the Grand Duchy loud and clear, and they were able to count on the support of two proposed guides: Jana Peters and Sophie Montreuil.
Tiredness and pride
“After having been amazed during the opening ceremony”, we detail Sophie Montreuil, “they continued with very complicated courses. A little stressed at the start, they released the pressure to obtain exceptional results. really want to congratulate them. We still have to progress on the agility courses which are very technical, without forgetting to work on the theory, because this European competition, there are eight events (mazes, games, tests in virtual reality ,…) The teams are very well prepared and train throughout the year”.
Originally from Mondorf-les Bains, Giuliano Fandel and Max Kunen had a great time in Croatia, despite three days of rain. “After taking the plane, we were taken care of in a mobile home”, we say, tired but with stars in their eyes. “We then participated in the tournament. It was very big, and many stations offered us courses. We are really happy to have represented our country there.
