Bulgaria is not in danger of being involved in the war
Putin aims to freeze the conflict in Ukraine, the political scientist is convinced
“The state system in Russia is another corrupt one. Institutions are on the surface, and below the surface are bribes, personal relationships, etc. This is a system where all organizational actions in society rot and cannot achieve the efficiency that is expected from a civilized institutional environment. … This system has been quite strong in Bulgaria for 30 years after the end of communism”. This was stated by political scientist Assoc. Prof. Ognyan Minchev from the Center for Regional and International Studies to the BNR.
Putin announced a partial military mobilization
“People in Russia know they are being sent as cannon fodder. If the professional Russian army has not been able to cope with the front lines of Ukraine for the past 7 months and has been put on the run in the last few weeks, to what extent can it cope with a reservist army of people living a civilian life and now in two weeks they will have to recall everything they know about martial art and apply it on the battlefields in Ukraine,” he commented on the reactions in Russian society after Putin’s announced partial military mobilization.
According to Associate Professor Minchev, punitive battalions that are behind the leadership battle army is a fact confirmed by various sources so far, and anyone who allows you to return to flight is liquidated:
“There’s something else here, familiar with that kind of reservist army set up. The Kremlin regime with such an army could not achieve miracles. to saturate this territory with an occupation network that somehow manages to keep Russian control over it. This would be possible in a frozen conflict. It is obvious that the Kremlin aims for this and pursues a policy of freezing the conflict”.
than the state leadership of Ukraine would not agree to such a “deal” and the Russian reservists who will be “imposed” in the occupied territories will have to enter real combat situations in which the deficit of the Russian army system will be designed more clear.
“It is not possible for the table to negotiate a solution to the problems that the war in Ukraine has created. The reason is that if Europe and the West are not able to stand up, Zelensky and the leadership of Ukraine will stand up, this would mean that Russia, albeit in a roundabout way, is being shown carte blanche to continue with its aggressive actions – both in the post-Soviet space and in Eastern Europe, under favorable conditions”, states the political scientist and adds: “EU and NATO have no choice but to stand firmer in our position that the regime in the Kremlin must return to international the recognized borders of the Russian Federation. laws which relate to the sovereignty of nations existing in the commonwealth”.
According to Associate Professor Minchev, the regime in the Kremlin does not hide that everything has been restored to the Russian Empire, which is in direct conflict with all the basic postulates of international law, that the world consists of independent nations and their sovereignty and territorial integrity cannot be added in question.
The political scientist was adamant that there is no question at all of Bulgaria or another NATO country entering to intervene in this conflict: “No one is threatening Bulgaria to join the war. These are propaganda formulas of people who are deeply dependent corruptly, ideologically and politically on the Russian “fifth column” in Bulgaria and on the interests of the Kremlin. The entire policy of the Western Union has so far been aimed at creating preconditions for helping Ukraine in order to it can deal with Russian aggression. So that the intervention of the forces of the Atlantic Alliance is not necessary, which would turn the war between the war of Russia and the Euro-Atlantic Alliance”.
