Will there be a shock? Prague: Vztek and Hřib. Fiala is in danger of being disappointed

The elections are over and there are coalitions in many town halls. Even in Prague at the municipality. A two-member coalition is possible only with the ANO movement, but the prime minister and some other officials of the government parties have already decided against it. However, the third strongest party, the Pirates, demands that TOGETHER take Čižínské Praha Sobě into the coalition. And there are already amused reactions from the Internet that the Pirates will finally push TOGETHER to a coalition with ANO.
Post-election negotiations on a new coalition are still ongoing in Prague. The Prague municipality has a total of 65 representatives, so a reliable coalition requires 33 representatives. The TOGETHER coalition has the most, i.e. 19 mandates. Immediately second is the ANO movement with 14 mandates. The Pirates have 13 mandates, Praha Sobě 11 mandates and the STAN movement marked by the Dozimetr case five mandates. The SPD and its coalition entities have three mandates.

Mathematically, the simplest solution would be the combination of TOGETHER and YES, which would have a total of 33 representatives. However, such a coalition would be the direct opposite of the government arrangement, and as was seen in the example of Pilsen, where the local coalition renounced the support of representatives elected for the SPD, big politics also affects the communal. According to Denik N, even Prime Minister Petr Fiala is against this possibility.
According to to the PrahaIN server, the former chairman of the ANO parliamentary club Jaroslav Faltýnek wanted to intervene in the negotiations for a possible coalition, but he didn’t walk. “He said that it would help to negotiate, so I thanked him,” a source from the movement told the editorial staff of PrahaIN. “He offered to help, I can confirm that,” another source added. In both cases, the Prague representatives of the movement were involved. They didn’t refuse help, but they didn’t accept it either. “We know those people better than Jaroslav Faltýnek, so I don’t even know much about what should be negotiated as a medium,” said sources who consider the number of ANO mandates in Prague a success.

Other options are coalitions on the “government plan”. This, of course, means that SPOLU would have to take two entities into the coalition, it does not mention that the Pirates’ and SPOLU’s plans for Prague are somewhat different. In addition, according to ČTK, the pirates also want to add Jan Čižinsky’s Praha Sobé movement to the coalition. In doing so, however, the coalition partners would outnumber the TOTAL representatives.
“The consensus within our club, that is what the Pirates want, is that we want to continue the record development of the city, as we have started it during this election period, with the fact that we want to create a broad coalition of democratic parties. This means not only ten government floor plans, but also including Prague Sobě. And so that competent and honest people sit in the (city) council, who will have Prague full-time,” said current mayor Zdeněk Hřib.
According to Hospodářské noviny, this request of Bohuslav Svoboda, the leader of the TOGETHER coalition upset. “It’s a ridiculous request. Who deals with whom is a matter of the winning team,” he said.
These requirements have already been commented on by punter and Pirates supporter Michal Sirový. On the one hand, Hřibová considers the request a show of strength, but he also laughs at the fact that Svoboda was only fifth in the preferential votes. Which Sirový considers proof that he will become the “Prague mascot”.

“This request of the Pirates is great if they want Together and YES,” laughs marketer and podcaster Tomáš Jirsa. The occasional glossator Jan Provazník also thinks in a similar way: “Together in Prague’s main task now is to get such demented conditions for entering the coalition from the Pirates that it will be legitimate to conclude it with ANO.”

The main task of Together in Prague now is to get the Pirates to give us such demented conditions for joining the coalition that it will be legitimate to conclude it with ANO.

The pirates are also laughed at by Adam Šilar, who ran for representative in Prague 10. This is because in Prague the Pirates warn against a coalition with ANO, while in Pilsen they formed it very quickly.
As the old pirate saying goes:
For so long you scare the coalition with ANO in Prague until you make one yourself in Pilsen.

Political scientist Jiří Pehe notices another trend. “The ODS is at the head of the government also because it entered the PS elections next to Petr Fiala – a symbol of being cut off from its ‘godfather’ past. But in the municipal elections, the faces of its successes are Kuba in České Budějovice and Svoboda in Prague – symbols of the party’s ‘overcome’ past,” he points out and evaluates: “Decent schizophrenia.”

“At the coalition negotiations in Prague, I would be most interested in how often the word CYCLE LANE will be heard in the search for program agreement. If it is less than twice per meeting, I perceive it as fraud on the voters,” added Prokop Vodrážka, a journalist for Deník N.
