ELECTIONS 2022: Prague in a coalition? Unnecessary, STAN and Pirates are enough, Spolu | claims Elections | Prague Gossip
On Sunday, representatives of the winning coalition Spolu (ODS, TOP 09 and KDU-ČSL) and STAN met for the first time in the post-election coalition meeting at the Prague municipality. They mainly discussed program matches. This was said by the chairman of the representatives of the ODS and member of the Spolu negotiation team Zdeněk Zajíček (ODS) and the serving deputy mayor and leader of the STAN Petr Hlaváček (for the STAN). Representatives of Spolu said that they want to discuss a coalition on the ground plan of the government one, i.e. with STAN and the Pirates. At the meeting, STAN presented its intention to invite the Prague Self movement to the coalition negotiations. Together, he now considers it unnecessary.
“The negotiations were friendly and to the point”
The coalition Together before ANO won the municipal elections in the metropolis. Pirates led by outgoing mayor Zdenek Hřibe finished third, Prague finished fourth, STAN fifth and SPD sixth.
“As we announced, we met with our closest partners and met with STAN representatives. The discussion was friendly and to the point, and we concluded that we are close in terms of program. We promised to continue the negotiations,” he said Bunny. It is said that the two entities have overlapping programs, for example, in their ideas about territorial development or the way the city is managed.

“We have another meeting on Thursday”
“We listened to their (Spolu) opinion on the next meeting and we have another meeting on Thursday. We talked about the future arrangement, with us telling them that we prefer a broad coalition of democratic parties. Of course, I perceive that Spolu is leading the negotiations as the winner of the elections,” he said Hlaváček.
According to Hlaváček, this means that the Prague movement would be included in the coalition formed on the ground plan of the government coalition. Representatives of STAN invite Prague to join the coalition for negotiations with each other accordingly. But it is only a recommendation from their side, because according to Hlaváček, STAN is aware that it is the smallest potential coalition entity.

The intention to invite Prague supporting Pirates
Zajíček said that for Spolu, the primary coalition is the government one. According to him, it is possible to start talking about the possibility of inviting Prague to itself only when Spolu, STAN and Piráti come to an agreement. In addition, according to him, it would first have to be clarified what the cooperation would look like and whether it would make sense. Leader Spolu, member of parliament and former mayor Bohuslav Svoboda (ODS), described this option as an unusual and joking idea that has no substantive meaning.
On the contrary, according to the afternoon statement of Mayor Zdenek Hřiba (Pirates), representatives of the Pirates intend to invite support from Prague. They also want to talk about this possibility together.
