This is how the Eintracht departures are doing
From Kostic to Hauge: Some former Eintracht Frankfurt players are convincing at the new club, where others have problems.
Frankfurt – This is how you would always wish for the first day at the new football club: stand in the starting line-up and score a goal.
Exactly so it has Goncalo Paciencia made in mid-August. The Portuguese, who had little chance of playing at Eintracht Frankfurt, scored 2-0 for his new employer Celta Vigo after a good hour, but in the end the header in the first game was not enough to win, Espanyol Barcelona could still make it 2-2 ex-Frankfurt Joselu, now 32, spoiled the mood for Celta and Paciencia in added time with a converted penalty. That doesn’t change anything about Paciencia’s very successful debut, and the 28-year-old striker was also in the next two games.
Eintracht departures: Paciencia with a curious injury, Kostic often replaced
Then, of course, the spirited attacker, who was held in high esteem in the dressing room at the end in Frankfurt, mainly because of his warm disposition, was slowed down by an unusual injury: Because he wasn’t allowed to play from the start due to muscle problems, he was so angry that he handed it banged hard against a wall, with the result – he had to have an operation. He has not played in Spain since, but has recently returned to training and should soon be an option for his team again.
All in all, after three years at Frankfurt (and an unfortunate one at Schalke), he deserved the move. Paciencia is back on the pitch, which would certainly not have been granted to him at Eintracht given the storm competition. But what happened to the other former Eintracht players who left the club this summer or were loaned out?
Filip Kostic , the Serb, who stayed with his new great love Juventus Turin until 2026, naturally had no problems moving into the team, he played seven league games and provided two assists. Kostic plays offensively as in Frankfurt, he forms the storm trio with Arkadiusz Milik and/or Dusan Vlahovic as well as Angel Di Maria, plays left wing, but is clearly taken off the field early than in Frankfurt, usually a quarter of an hour before the final whistle, so just then, when he regularly turned it up again in Frankfurt. Kostic completed only two encounters in Serie A over 90 minutes.
In terms of sport, things are going badly for Juve, the subscription champions are currently only eighth in the league – seven points behind leaders SSC Napoli. Last Sunday they suffered an embarrassing 1-0 defeat at newcomers Monza, who had exactly one point up to that point. Kostic failed to prevent the decisive cross before conceding and then had to put up with criticism from the Italian media for his insecure defensive behavior.
And in the Champions League, things aren’t going particularly well for Juve either: two 1-2 defeats against Paris Saint-Germain and Benfica put Turin under a lot of pressure. After all, Kostic, for whom Eintracht received twelve million euros and a Luca Pellegrini, provided another template, cross from the outside line, header, goal.
Eintracht departures: Hauge is still not running smoothly
The Australian is also in Italy, at Hellas Verona Ajdin Hrustic on the way, there he signed until 2026, also to get himself in the World Cup form. His venture has not yet been crowned with success, he was only allowed to play a total of 80 minutes in two short appearances (two defeats). But he wears the ten.
Interestingly, the one in Frankfurt is balanced and very soon found to be far too easy Sam Lammer much better at his new club, FC Empoli. The attacker, who completely disappointed in the Hessians, denied in Table 14. All seven league games so far, scoring one goal and providing one assist. The Dutchman is on a one-season loan from Atalanta Bergamo to Empoli.
right up and running Jens Petter Hauge in Belgium, on the other hand, this has not happened so far. The ten million euro man should get back on track at KAA Gent, just like Daichi Kamada (VV St. Truiden) and Tuta (KV Kortrijk) had managed to do in previous years. In the Jupiler League, however, the offensive player was used sporadically at best, was substituted on four times and had a playing time of 81 minutes. Internationally things were just a little better for him when he started, although not well, so far he hasn’t scored or assisted. In addition, Gent was eliminated in qualifying against Omonia Nicosia (0:2, 0:2), missed the Europa League and now has to play in the Conference League. The Norwegian hasn’t left any traces so far, which is disappointing from Eintracht’s point of view. In this condition, a return to the Frankfurters would hardly make sense if many, many millions of euros were wasted without much profit.
It also runs unevenly ragnar ache, who has been loaned to Greuther Fürth, who have been relegated to the Bundesliga, for a year. True, the young forward made nine league games, scoring one goal (against KSC) and announcing one. Ache does not have a regular place, although Fürth is currently only penultimate in the table. In addition, the second division club with Ache embarrassingly lost in the first round of the cup to fifth division club Stuttgarter Kickers, Eintracht’s next opponent. The striker will hardly have a future with the Hessians, nor will he be loaned to Göztepe Izmir in his home country Ali Akman . The young attacker has played 38 minutes in Turkey’s second division so far, without a goal. Göztepe has an option to buy. It’s his second loan, in Holland, at NEC Nijmegen.
Eintracht departures: Erik Durm at FCK on the way to becoming a leader
So far, the changes from have been unsatisfactory Danny daCosta and Aimen Barkok to FSV Mainz 05, both were only used once for a few minutes, last Saturday against Hertha (1-1). At least Da Costa has an explanation, he suffered from the consequences of a pubic injury and was not part of the squad for the first five games. Barkok, meanwhile, has trouble gaining a foothold with the neighbors. In any case, his currywurst stand (“Adlers Worscht”) in Alt-Sachsenhausen is said to be doing much better.
Stefan Ilsanker who has joined the Italian second division club FC Genoa, does not get beyond the role of supplementary player and at best only makes short appearances. Eric Durm , who had to leave in the summer despite a contract, was in all ten competitive games at 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the starting lineup, sometimes as a right-back, sometimes as a left-back, he has collected four yellow cards and provided one assist. Surprisingly, the reserved guy is a leader at FCK.
Also in the German lower house, at Hannover 96, tries a loan young professional antonio foti, and how! In his first appearance for 96 against Regensburg, he scored the 1-0 winner shortly after coming on, and he provided an assist in the next game, that was in mid-August. After that, however, the 18-year-old was no longer used by the professionals, only once again in the regional league team, where he scored in the 5-1 win against Kickers Emden. (Thomas Kilchenstein)
