Club Aura makes design entrance into Antwerp nightlife (Antwerp)
There is no shortage of traditional events this weekend in Antwerp. But if you were looking for something refreshing, you could go to Club Aura in the Kotterstraat. The new nightclub opens its doors there for the first time and did so in style. The evening got off to a slow start, but once it got behind the controls, it became clear that Aura has the potential to become an asset to urban nightlife.
A decor renewed, beautiful lights and a massive sound system to say the least. That in a more than nice combination-up made the openings of Club Aura into a season of the most anticipated party nights of the fledgling Antwerp club. Anyone who saw the line-up probably had no doubts: the opening night had to be a success.
All beginnings are difficult, although that doesn’t really apply to Club Aura. Early birds may feel a little awkward on a free dance floor, but that doesn’t last long. In the Fusia Bar, the second room of the new club, local Yela hosted a well-stocked room just after midnight. The housey pictures fitted in perfectly with the dreamy decor in which numerous lanterns attracted attention.
In the larger Aura room, Fais Le Beau and Vieira initially found it a little easier to entertain the attendees. But the Brussels girl, known for the Gay Haze party concept, is not discouraged and not discouraged: the second half of their set hundreds of people play their smoothly mixed techno.
At three o’clock it was time for the star of the evening. British DJ and producer Pangea, one of the faces behind the Hessle Audio label, spoiled the audience with a stirring set in which house and harder techno had the upper hand. vintage UK sound had little mention of its origins, but few regretted it. When closing act Zephyr took over the decks, the partygoers danced with their eyes closed towards the end of the more than successful opening night.
By combining a clear vision and politics with a varied offer, it can play a refreshing role in the full range of Antwerp parties. (lava)
