Airbus will create up to 100 jobs in Portugal. Recruitment Campaign
Airbus announced this Wednesday the opening, in 2023, of a new satellite office of its international talent development platform (Global Business Services) in Coimbra, which provides for up to 100 jobs.
In a statement to the Lusa agency, Airbus Global Business Services (GBS) recalled that after having started its operations in Lisbon in 2021, with the hiring of about 200 people in six – a number that currently stands at more than 350 – reinforce “the investment it is making in Portugal”, opening an office in Coimbra in the first quarter of 2023 “to be closer to potential talents to be hired”.
“Coimbra stood out as the relevant city for this new project due to its strategic location, transport options and infrastructure, as well as the presence of polytechnic higher education institutions and universities chosen by thousands of students to develop their own in various areas.“, stressed the European aerospace company.
Recruitment Campaign
According to a press release, the recruitment campaign “starts in a few weeks” and Airbus GBS seeks to hire in Coimbra “employees in the areas of Accounting, Procurement, IT Systems, Human Resources and Travel & Expenses”.
In the statement, Airbus GBS also said that it has an international platform for the development of Airbus talent in Europe, located in Lisbon, which has more than 350 employees “working in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, Information Management, Engineering, Communication, Customer Service, Legal and Compliance.”.
“It is one of the most diverse in Portugal, with a team that represents 30 nationalities, has a parity of 33 years and an average age”, he added.

In Portugal, in addition to the GBS hub in Lisbon, the European group owns Airbus Atlantic Portugal, in Santo Tirso do Porto, a recently opened district, which produces parts, fuselage sections and other miscellaneous equipment for commercial aircraft and helicopter models.
