Toulouse: snail operation by employers in the medico-social sector Wednesday, September 28
Several employers’ federations in the medico-social sector (Ehpad, reception of disabled people in particular), representing several tens of thousands of employees, will demonstrate on Wednesday September 28 from 9:30 a.m. in Toulouse.
A simultaneous demonstration will take place in Toulouse and Montpellier, Wednesday September 28 from 9:30 am. Several federations of employers (Fehap, Nexem) and solidarity actors (Cnape, Uriopss, Unapei, Mutualité Française) calling for a snail operation, which will start, in Toulouse, from the Market of National Interest, in the sector of Fondeyre, at 9:30 a.m. The procession will take the avenue des Etats-Unis, will pass in front of the departmental council, then will join the prefecture by the boulevards. Traffic will therefore be disrupted in this area.
Employers represent tens of thousands of employees in nursing homes, facilities for disabled people, child welfare, aid for people in precariousness. They demand the application of the commitments of the State, for the revaluation of the salaries of the personnel.
Recruitment problems, worrying understaffing in establishments
“Some trades are completely forgotten about the revaluations, are not part of the list. For others, the State has committed, but the departmental councils which must finance, answer that they have not received the money This poses enormous problems of attractiveness and recruitment in certain trades”, explains a spokesperson for Fehap Occitanie, a federation of employers which weighs 21,200 jobs in the region.
“In the current context, the establishments and services already recorded worrying understaffing, endangering the support offered to people treated, accompanied and their families, adds the spokesperson.”
