The Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova urges the population to calm down
Natalia Gavrilița, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, condemned the recent threats of Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the possibility of using nuclear weapons.
In this context, the official from Chisinau urged the citizens to calm down, stressing that the Republic of Moldova wants peace. “My exhortation is to calm down. I condemn these nuclear threats. We want peace, we want the war to end. We see its consequences on us, on people’s well-being. In case of such a scenario there are guides on the IGSU website, but they are abstract. So I wish it doesn’t come to this scenario” mentioned Natalia Gavrilița.
At the same time, the prime minister from Chisinau emphasized that the Republic of Moldova continues to support the territorial integrity of Ukraine and condemns the so-called referendums started in the regions occupied by Russian forces.
“We are deeply concerned about the announced partial mobilization. We are talking about a large number of people who could be sent to fight in Ukraine. This could lead to the escalation of war, which has a tragedy, I have not always advocated peace. At the same time, I condemn these so-called referendums in the occupied regions and want to reiterate the support of the Republic of Moldova for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine” the prime minister from Chisinau also said.
We remind you that on Wednesday, the Kremlin leader, in a speech to the nation, announced partial mobilization in Russia. Putin stated that he had already signed a decree to this effect, stating that the partial mobilization specifies “an urgent step necessary to protect Russia’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity“.
At the same time, he threatened that he could use nuclear weapons if the West gets involved in “special military operation” from Ukraine and insisted on holding so-called referendums in the occupied areas.
