Municipal elections are here. How and who can you cross? | PRAGUE | News
After four years, municipal council elections are held again. Of all the elections taking place in the Czech Republic, the municipal ones are the most complex from the point of view of the system. You can vote in municipal elections in three ways. The first way is to cross-check candidates across all the parties that are running in a given seat.
Another option that you, as a voter, have to give one cross to your preferred political entity.
The third way you can support your candidates is to combine both changed options.
In addition, part of the republic also elects candidates for the Senate. These are the electoral districts of Prague six, ten and eleven, and in the Central Bohemia region they are the districts of Beroun, Mělník and Kutná Hora.
If you have not received your ballot or if you have lost it, you can request it again directly at the polling station. I would like to remind you that for the second round of the senate elections, which will take place next week on Friday and Saturday, you will not receive ballots by mail. Every citizen who is at least 18 years old and has a permanent residence in the territory of the municipality has the right to vote. Unlike parliamentary elections, however, it is not possible to vote on a voter’s card outside of one’s place of permanent residence. You can find detailed information on the website of the Ministry of the Interior or the commission will tell you directly at the polling station.
