A Russian citizen who was not allowed to enter Lithuania without a visa became a hero of Belarusian propaganda
Blocked the way to the neighbors
The video of the state incident was published by the Belarusian Committee on its official Telegram and Facebook channels on Thursday.
“Lithuania throws people on the roadway at border checkpoints,” commented a neighbor.
Almost 40 sec. duration made as indicated in the upper entry in the corner, on September 20, about 2:30 p.m. It captures, as can be understood from the above comment and some details, the border crossing point.
The video shows an SUV approaching the line marking the state border. After getting out of it, three people bring out another one, who seems to resist, as if he might be drunk, so the men have to carry him.
The officers (you can tell from the dark green outfit) drag the passenger to the line and lay him down there, placing his backpack next to him. Then one of the officers takes the bicycle out of the SUV and places it next to it.
Without a visa, there is nothing to talk about, you cannot enter the Schengen area.
Finally, upon approaching the victim, the officer moves his right leg. From a distance, it’s hard to tell if he’s pushing something—like a rock or a jacket that’s spread wider—on the ground, or if he’s kicking someone who’s lying down. Then the officer leans over and says something else to the man.
According to the Belarusians, this happened on September 20 at the Privalka (Lithuanian side – Raigard) border checkpoint. “Video cameras captured the moment when a Lithuanian border guard car brought a man to the border with Belarus. “Representatives of the Lithuanian services pulled him out of the cars and left him lying on the road, kicking him a couple of times”, – the situation was retold in “Telegram”.
As a result, entry into the neighboring country was temporarily blocked. “Later, the “deportee” moved to the territory of Belarus. During the survey, it was established that this is how the Lithuanian side got rid of the Russian citizen,” explained the post, which has already been viewed more than 17,000 times. together.
They keep showing similar videos
The representative of the State Border Guard Service (VSAT) Giedrius Mišutis confirmed that the incident took place, but the Belarusians kept silent on further details.
A couple of days ago, a Russian citizen of Chechen nationality rode a bicycle from Belarus to the Raigard border control post. in 1980 the man who was born submitted a passport, but it did not contain a Lithuanian visa, so he was informed that he could submit it to our country.
Then he falls to the ground, starts saying that he’s not going anywhere, that he needs to go to the EU and stuff like that
“The border guards immediately saw that he did not have the conditions to be admitted,” the portal said 15 minutes said G. Mišutis. – Not to mention since September 19. the current procedure, that regional states have introduced additional restrictions on Russian citizens. Without a visa, there’s nothing to talk about, I can’t enter the Schengen zone at all.”
As is usually done in similar cases, the foreigner was refused entry to Lithuania, everything was explained to him in the official premises after the control.
“Then he falls to the ground, starts saying that he’s not going anywhere, that he needs to go to the EU and the like,” the experience of his colleagues retold. – For a long time, the border guards of Druskininkai have been learning to talk to him, to explain. No action, no force was taken by anyone. And he just lies there, doesn’t go anywhere and doesn’t listen. What to do in this case? After all, you need to work, and he gets in the way by lying in those rooms.”
Before taking any action, the officials assessed the man’s health – this is now done with migrants who have crossed the border illegally. They wanted to find out whether it is necessary to call the medics, as the border guards have knowledge of when and how to provide emergency aid. Everything was fine – the person was healthy, strong, but he was behaving abnormally.
He just lies there, doesn’t go anywhere and doesn’t listen. What to do in this case? After all, you need to work, and he gets in the way by lying in those rooms.
Then the border guards loaded the foreigner with a bicycle and other things into an official SUV, took him to the border and dropped him off – as the recording shows, he laid him on the ground and piled his belongings next to him.
“No force was used, except for the lifting, and the use of force,” noted the person. – He was persuaded for a long time, but the border guards did not find another way out. The man just lay on the floor and it was obvious that he would not listen. What to do, you need to work on it…
There were normal, professional actions in this situation. It is non-standard, such cases do not happen every day. The person was not admitted, legal acts were observed, formalities were maintained, and there were no health hazards. Just one more number to not be admitted.”
Before taking the Chechen away, the Lithuanians informed the Belarusians about the distance and that the person will be returned to the country from which he came.
Soon the neighboring border guards came and took the newcomer away. VSAT cameras showed that after about five minutes, the man got up, took a bicycle with a backpack and, accompanied by Belarusians, left on his own. They talked to the traveler again – in the recording they can be heard saying: “Get up, they still won’t let you in.”
In the beginning, it still seemed that something needed to be done. They periodically rotate something – on the Polish gear, on the Latvians – less often, and on the Lithuanians.”
“Of course they claim he was thrown out. This is their style, – explained G. Mišutis. – They play their videos, but now we don’t react anymore. Even before entering Lithuania, migrants say that they were brutally beaten… In the beginning, it still seemed like something had to be done. They periodically rotate something – on the poles driveon Latvians – less often, and on Lithuanians.”
The man came to the border of Lithuania with a general flow. The Belarusians had to check his documents and do not know why he passed without a visa. In this case, they should have warned that the person will not enter another country. G. Mišutis guessed that due to the strained bilateral relations, Belarusians might not have cared about what was waiting for the border of the other state.
There would be no migration crisis, maybe we would have an event.
The fact that the Chechen came by bicycle is invincible – there are always people crossing the border in this way. The border guards did not emphasize the whole situation. “If there was no migration crisis, maybe there would be an event for us too,” thought the VSAT representative.
According to him, people who are not allowed to enter Lithuania for one reason or another rarely behave exceptionally or are challenged. just scolding or complaining about buying people plane tickets that they will lose if they don’t get in. “On the one hand, you understand humanly that the trip will not take place, the investments made will be lost. But such legislation.
“It’s rare to have to use force, especially to take a person out,” the man assured. – reprimands are heard. There are no very good dramas. There are only many interpretations, repetition ten times.”
