Prague 5 will gradually sell thirteen unusable non-residential spaces
In February of this year, the City Council of Prague 5 approved the sale of thirteen non-residential units in privatized houses in the form of an electronic auction at the highest possible price. We are currently creating testimonials that we sell.
“We do not sell property owned by the municipal district, the exception is property that is economically unusable,” said Prague 5 Deputy Mayor Martin Damašek (TOP 09), whose competence includes property care.
According to the approved list, non-residential premises are intended for sale in Smíchov, Košířy and Radlice. The smallest occupies an area of only two square meters, the largest over 300 meters.
“They are in bad condition, it is not worth investing in them. Or they are difficult to access,” said the deputy mayor. For example, cellars or toilets are suitable for sale.
“Appraisals are gradually being created so that we can set a minimum starting price. Finally, an auction will be created,” he said. The funds obtained will become revenue for the budget of Prague 5 and, according to Damašek, should be supplemented by the reconstruction of premises owned by the district, which will be rented out.
“Every year, we repair about eight such spaces with our own funds, then rent them out. Considering that the tenant does not have to invest in reconstruction, it gives us the opportunity to set a higher rent,” Damašek said.
