Russia is ready to supply gas to China in the morning via the Power of Siberia-2 pipeline
Russia is already ready to build the Power of Siberia-2 gas pipeline between Siberian fields and China. At the same time, even more gas can be supplied to China than planned – up to 150 billion cubic meters. This was reported “Radio 1” leading analyst of the National Energy Security Fund, expert of the Financial University under the Government of Russia Igor Yushkov.
“The project is feasible, there is no presence from Russia. We are ready to build a gas pipeline and sell more gas. Deliveries to China in the amount of 50 billion cubic meters are being discussed. But now the “Power of Siberia-2” is becoming even more relevant, because now it is necessary to put gas from West Siberian fields somewhere, and not just close them. European selective proposals. The Europeans say that in two or three years I will not take anything from Russia at all. Therefore, we are ready to supply more – not 50, but 100 and even 150 “cubes”. It all depends on China – under what conditions and at what price is it ready to buy gas from Russia,” Yushkov explained.
According to him, the Chinese are tough negotiators. They believe that time is on their side, and the worse things are for Gazprom in Europe, the more they will talk. Therefore, Beijing is not in a hurry, it assumes that the more time passes, the lower the price they will buy gas from Russia.
The Power of Siberia-2 is a projected main gas pipeline between the fields of Siberia and Western China. Its planned length is 6.7 thousand km. The main resource base of the gas pipeline should be the new Chayandinskoye field.
