TERIBEAR moved Prague, five million crowns will help children
The eighth year of the weekly happening TERIBEAR moves Prague, or Prima day with the bear: powered by ŠKODA AUTO, is behind us. 11,64 people are participating in the charity event, who together covered 149,056 kilometers, the partners of the event turned it into 3,724,305 crowns, which will help abandoned children. As a thank you to all participants and a gift for the 25th birthday, the partners at the end of the event decided to match the amount of aid to the final 5,000,000 crowns. This year, the event took place at Prague’s Letná after two years, which took place online due to covid restrictions.
“Thank you very much to everyone who came to Letná despite the bad weather. I was moved when I saw that people across generations were moving on the track in the rain, smiling and eager to help. It’s hard to describe, it has to be experienced. I look forward to seeing you again next yearsays the patron of the foundation, Tereza Maxová.
Milan Javornický, who ran 507 kilometers in seven days, contributed CZK 12,675 to the children. “I chose the support of children after leaving institutional care, because I consider it a weak point, the transition of children from children’s homes to society is critical for many young people. I myself have professional experience working in a children’s home, that’s why we decided to run for them, “ says Milan Javornický. Overall second place went to Jan Čížek, who participates in the charity event every year, this year he ran 413 kilometers. Third place in the overall standings belongs to Michael Smith with 351 kilometers. In the women’s category, Marcela Kilarská took first place with 313 kilometers. In the children’s category under 12, Henrika Sekowská was the most diligent collector of kilometers with 183 kilometers. It was also possible to meet teams on the teribear circuit, mostly in the same jerseys. This year, the Accenture team collected the largest number of kilometers, a total of 4,988 km. In the category of family teams, the most successful team was Sekáči ve vana, which includes, for example, the winner of the children’s category, together they covered 795 km.
The partners of the event also collected kilometers on the track for the company teams, the traditional general partner is ŠKODA AUTO: “At ŠKODA AUTO, social engagement is one of the main components of the NEXT LEVEL strategy – ŠKODA STRATEGY 2030. That is why, from our conviction and from the heart, we support the TERIBEAR charity organization for a long time and persistently. The number of 11,644 and the collected amount of CZK 5,000,000 impressively prove what we can achieve together with our help. I would like to sincerely thank all participants, partners and sponsors for their commitment and support. I’m already looking forward to next year,” says Maren Gräf, member of the Board of Directors of ŠKODA AUTO for People and Culture.
The corporate team also had a major media partner in the state: “I was pleased that Teribear returned to the original scene of the crime after two years in the virtual world, and it was an opportunity to meet in person again at Letná. My colleague from the MAFRA media group team was of course there and happy to cheer on the “copper hero” on his way to a successful goal. The will to help and support a good cause, especially in this difficult time, is not lacking among people, and that is always positive news.” says Miloslava Nováková, Director of Corporate Affairs for the Czechia and Slovakia of the MAFRA media group.
