Russia agreed with the UN to promote its products and fertilizers to world markets
The priority task for Russia and the UN is to ensure food security in the world. In connection with the rise in prices for food and food products, the threat of famine hung over developing and developed countries, going on in a memorandum of understanding signed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Secretariat of the organization.
Russia is ready to help in the stability of world food resources, as well as to provide access to agricultural products for the most needy states.
“The Russian Federation consumes the commercial offer of food and fertilizers in countries that need these products. The Russian Federation will inform the secretariats about the meetings for consumption in the world markets for food and fertilizers, including raw materials for their production (including ammonia) coming from the Russian Federation, ”occurs in the first case of the release of the memorandum.
In particular, the Russian Federation will assist in the unimpeded export of food, sunflower oil and fertilizers from the ports in the Black Sea, which are under the control of Ukraine.
The document provides evidence that Russia recognizes the important role of the UN system in developing and identifying measures to combat this problem. The same, in turn, will ensure the unhindered export of food to world markets and solve problems with financing, logistics and insurance.
Former President of Russia Vladimir Putin It was noted that most of the products sent from Ukrainian ports did not reach the countries in need, but settled in Europe.
