Two million euro project, lost by a city in Moldova. What could be done with the money
A project worth two million euros was lost by the city of Roznov, Neamt county, because extremely toxic political alliances were formed in the local council, as the mayor claims. Not having a majority in the legislature, the projects initiated by him are rejected by the elected members of the opposition.

This is how things happened this week as well, when Vasile Pavăl, liberal mayor, ordered the convening of three meetings of the City Council, but they were boycotted, some of the councilors refusing to participate. These are four from Pro Romania, three from PSD and one each from PMP and ALDE.
Among the decisions on the agenda was an extremely important one, which provided for a financial correction of the thermal rehabilitation project of some blocks in the city. Its value is 10 million lei, in other words 2 million euros, the funding being provided by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, but it was lost.
“The irresponsible opposition in CL Roznov continues to attack the interests of citizens. At three consecutive meetings convened in two days (Tuesday and Wednesday – ed.), the councilors from PSD, Pro Romania, ALDE and PMP were absent without reason. By Wednesday, September 7 – ed.), at midnight the decision had to be sent to the Government”to declare the mayor.
“Voices” of some councilors who boycotted the meetings said that the reason for the non-presentation was the fact that there were others among the draft decisions. However, it is a childish explanation, because the decision of community interest can easily be voted, and the others not, because the majority in the legislative part was on their side.
“What these councilors have done, missing like cowards from meetings and putting such an important project at risk, is tantamount to theft. It’s as if he put his hand in the pockets of the Roznovians and took the money they wanted to rehabilitate the homes. The excuse invoked (…) is false and illogical”support the mayor.
What will happen next in the Roznov City Council is easy to predict, because the mayor does not seem to reach a common denominator with the majority members of the legislature. And about the “cheat” of the elected officials, the messages in the virtual environment are extremely critical, saying that they prioritized petty interests, not those of the community: “It is also our fault, the citizens. We must revolt, do something, not just unite on Facebook, go to the town hall and see who does not agree with the rehabilitation of buildings, asphalting, normality! It’s terrible. Shall we band together and go do something about it? Enough with the banter”.
