Hanover: At Tui, home office from abroad is possible
It must be a dream of many people: lying by the pool or on the beach during working hours and enjoying the sun. For employees of the Tui travel group, this idea can become reality. The company’s IT professionals have the opportunity to work from anywhere in the world.
At Tui, the first up to 30 working days of the year can do their job anywhere in the world. A year after the program was introduced, almost 800 employees from 34 countries worked abroad – 10,000 working days in vacation countries were accumulated, the company announced on Thursday. Tui wants to create jobs – and introduces foreign offers
The world’s largest tourism provider has been on an austerity plan for a long time, but is expected to say in the spring that it wants to create jobs – abroad and in the digital sector. After the first Corona year 2020, a total of 8,000 jobs were on the cross-off list across the group. According to experts, the target group for the digital jobs are experts in software and data analysis, whom the group wants to attract with flexible working models.
“The past two years have shown that virtual collaboration is efficient and also good across national borders,” said Tui HR director Sybille Reiß. “At the same time, we also see that the workplace in the office continues to play an important role.” could die from almost anywhere at times – as long as the job profile allows it and the stay is coordinated with the manager.

According to Tui, the work stay abroad lasts an average of 8.5 days, so far employees in 82 countries have set up their mobile offices. Above all, those accepted from Germany use the program, according to colleagues from Great Britain and Spain.
The most sought-after country for Germans to work abroad is Spain with a share of 32 percent, ahead of Greece (7.33) and Italy (5.56). (dpa/mp)
