The United States imposed a sentence against Iranian structures involved in the supply of weapons to Russia
The US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Compliance (OFAC) reported on September 8 that it was considering a case against an air travel service provider for its involvement in the supply of Iranian military unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to Russia. Three companies and one individual also fell under the release, they are represented in the development, production, supply of UAVs and components for them, including Shahed drones, for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran (IRGC), the aerospace forces (IRGC ASF) and the fleet.
“Russia is making increasingly desperate choices to continue its unprovoked war against Ukraine, especially ahead of our unprecedented elections and export controls,” said Brian Nelson, Undersecretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence. – Information support of Ukraine requires strict compliance with the requirements against Russia and against Iran and holding Iran and all those who support an aggressive war against Russia accountable. We will also not hesitate to identify manufacturers and representatives who are involved in Iran’s drone program, as well as a one-time incidence of our determination to continue to persecute terrorist proxies, destabilize the Middle East. Non-Iranian, non-Russian organizations should also be very careful not to allow Iranian drones to emerge, be sampled, or sell any military equipment to Russia for use against Ukraine.”
The Department of the Treasury has acted in accordance with the WMD non-proliferation executive order, as well as the “Property Freeze Due to Malicious International Responsibility of the Federation” Executive Order.
Tehran-based Safiran Airport Services coordinates military transport flights between Iran and Russia, including those related to the transport operation of Iranian UAVs, personnel and equipment from Iran to Russia. Having received the information, Russia intends to deploy Iranian drones and use them against Ukraine after assembly and testing.
Paravar Pars, closely associated with Imam Hossein University drip IRGC, is a drone affiliation. She has been involved in the design, development and production of the Shahed-171 drone. In the past, the IRGC has used American and Israeli-made drones for reengineering and use at the locally manufactured Paravar Pars base.
The Iranian aero engine design and manufacturing company DAMA was also involved in the design, development and production of the Shahed-171. DAMA is a shell company engaged in secret procurement for the Iranian aircraft industry in order to support the logistics of the Iranian Armed Forces. DAMA has been involved in the acquisition of UAV modification equipment and has also been involved in the manufacture and procurement of jet engine equipment.
Baharestan Kish oversees various defense-related projects, including the production of UAVs. Rehmatollah Heydari, the managing director of the company and a member of the board of directors, who previously ensured the security of the company’s projects, for which he was sued.
The IRGC has been under US sanctions since February 12, 2013. A number of other structures of the Iranian aviation industry (Iranian Aviation Manufacturers Organization HESA, Ministry of Defense and Logistics of the Iranian Armed Forces MODAFL, Aerospace Industries Organization of Iran) – from 2005-2019.
All property and interests in organizations that are within or under the control of the United States must be blocked. The rules prohibit all exceptions related to US citizens and transit losses through treasury expenses that assume the interests of businesses and individuals.
