Dirk De Boeck becomes Country Manager for Belgium at Westpole – ICT news
IT company Westpole, which specializes in digital transformation, has appointed Dirk De Boeck (54) as country manager for Belgium. He had been approached last February to take on the role of Director Managed Services and he is now taking a further step.
“Companies that still want to move to the cloud, we can help with their project transformation and adoption,” says De Boeck. “And those who have already made this link can often make further progress in terms of cost optimization and risk management.” The newly-minted countrymanager believes in the support role that Westpole can play on this occasion and will make a number of adjustments in the organization with a view to refining this strategic choice.
‘Restricted menu’
“I liken this development to that of a restaurant that wants to offer a more limited menu, in order to focus on its best dishes”, explains De Boeck. ‘We have proactively focused on digital infrastructure and cloud computing projects. This was already mostly the case previously, but we had still and always left all the other options on the menu. This will now be much more limited.
De Boeck has more than 25 years of experience in IT-management. In his career, he was, among other things, active as Senior Manager Digital Projects at Colruyt Group, where he was in charge of the end-to-end management of large IT projects. Prior to that, he was Managing Partner of a start-up within the Cronos group, he assumed managerial functions at the ICT service provider Damovo. He was also EMEA Defense and Government Expert at HP. For three years, De Boeck worked as Head of ICT Innovation at bpost and between 2007 and 2011 he was Belux Sales Director at British Telecom. In February 2022, he was hired by Westpole Benelux to occupy the position of Director Managed Services.
