The connections were already limited on September 1 due to the lack of drivers. The transport companies Arriva and ČSAD Central Bohemia wanted to resolve the situation in such a way that everything would be in order this week. However, the outage occurred again on Monday, September 5, and the carriers will have to pay fines. “Fines are given automatically for each missed connection in the amount of fifty crowns per kilometer. Unfortunately, the carriers’ promise has not been fulfilled much. At ČSAD Central Bohemia it is partly so, there are a minimum of outages there on Mondays, but at Arriva it is worse than at the end of last week,” he said Daily Filip Drápal, spokesperson of the Regional Organizer of Prague Integrated Transport (ROPID).
Due to the lack of drivers, there will probably be restrictions on line 224, which runs between the stops Sídliště Petrovice and Nádraží Horní Počernice. Instead of every half hour, the bus should come only once an hour. “It’s an additional line, but it saves four drivers,” the spokesman explained. This should reduce the risk of outages. “If this is not enough, we will be forced to deal with it further. Either by some temporary restriction of timetables, or possibly by the carrier handing over the lines to someone who is able to operate and who has enough drivers,” Drápal added.

At the same time, he pointed out that the lack of drivers is a problem for all carriers. “Others also drive for the so-called blood, and there is nowhere to spare drivers,” he said.
At the same time, ROPID hopes that the situation will improve already on Tuesday, but the lack of drivers does not offer any quick solution. “If we could get it, for example, from other parts of the republic, it would only be good. But there have been such efforts in the past,” said Drápal.
