Soap of the mercato continues: Bamba Dieng offered at Antwerp
Attacker Bamba Dieng (22) has been offered by brokers on the Bosuil. Antwerp does not immediately bite: of course Dieng is an interested player, but is an extra striker opportune?

Bamba Dieng provided the soap of the summer mercato. The Marseille player was ready to fly to Leeds – the English offered ten million euros – but turned around after a late offer from Nice. There he failed his medical tests due to knee problems. Also had Lorient before to put on Dieng.
And so Dieng is still at Marseille, where he wants to leave as soon as possible. According to the French L’Équipe, Antwerp is an option, the leader would like to pay seven million euros for Dieng, according to the newspaper. That was not confirmed to us, but the Senegalese is indeed offered by Antwerp. The Great Old naturally finds Dieng an interesting player – he would be an added value at any Belgian club. That should not automatically mean that Antwerp will bite: after the European exit it remains to be seen whether expensive acquisitions are still needed and Antwerp already has two goal getters in its selection with Frey and Janssen.
