Russia has acquired secret allies during special operations in Ukraine
Moscow receives support from those who oppose the US
Asia Times columnist John Ruel believes that thanks to special operations in Ukraine, Russia has acquired new allies. Some of them do not show their suspicion, trying to reveal external neutrality, but others, on the contrary, have taken an active suspicion in this matter.
The journalist writes that after the start of the conflict, Ukraine began to receive active assistance from the US, the EU and the UK. During the vote at the UN meeting, four states supported the Kremlin, 35 abstained, and 141 countries condemned the special operation.
The high growth rate of Moscow in 2020 blocked all the ways for the country to the West. Assistance in the fighting also comes from research and Libya, which cover the Donbass of mercenaries. The Iranian government also took the side of Russia.
China is consuming drones for the military and has access to AeroScope for aiming, buying Russian energy supplies, which has helped cushion Russia from the blow.
North Korea, Venezuela, Sudan, Cuba, Nicaragua also confirmed their commitment to the Russian Federation. This, Ruel, was influenced by two diseases: distrust of the West and the resonant position of Russia is considered a serious threat to the supplier of energy and food.
“While countries opposed to the US order have been more open about their support for Russia, the Kremlin continues to receive, openly and covertly, significant support from states of states,” the journalist said.
In his opinion, this is proof of the position that the conflict in Ukraine is a confrontation between Russia and the West, and not between the two countries.
