There are many rooftops in Lyon. This one is certainly the most unusual because it is at the top of a parking lot.
Since July 11, 2019, a rooftop has been accessible to everyone above the Halles Paul Bocuse car park, nicknamed the snail. By taking the elevator, you find yourself on a huge green terrace of 2,000 m2.
A garden and a refreshment bar await you at the top
Lyon Parc Auto (LPA) has gone to great lengths to make this place a unique place in the Part-Dieu district. LPA invested 5 million euros and the group got its money’s worth.
The site has been totally transformed by the artist Mengzhi Zheng. Yellow and white have become the official colors of this rooftop, from the floor covering to the furniture installed. A garden made up of 2000 plants has been laid out and a refreshment bar allows you to cool off.
A rooftop limited to 100 people simultaneously
Small flat, the view is not incredible. The rooftop being much lower than the towers of Part-Dieu, the view overlooks the offices and neighboring apartments…
One thing is also important to know before going there: this large terrace can accommodate up to 100 people simultaneously. The number of people is counted thanks to gates placed at the level of the entrance.
If you are stuck in front, the maximum capacity has been reached.
