There is not much chance that there will be electric buses in Budapest
In the countryside, however, the green buses rumble
BKV’s run of the mill with electric buses also hurts because, in parallel, several electric buses were handed over to the local traveling public in the countryside in the past few days. He took over DKV Zrt. in Debrecen on Tuesday. 12 Mercedes-Benz eCitaro vehicles. The supplier is a consortium of Omnibus Hungária Kft. and Inter Traction Electrics Kft. The purchase was made from about HUF 2.2 billion, roughly a third of which was covered by the government’s Green Bus Model Project, read VG.
The 12-meter-long, three-door, low-floor, air-conditioned and barrier-free buses have a range of 315 km on a single charge. The big advantage of e-buses is that their operation is 60-70 HUF cheaper per kilometer and their payback is faster than that of traditional vehicles.
In Székesfehérvár, with little exaggeration, electric buses are handed over every month, most recently on August 30, Ikarus Bus announced that it had delivered four vehicles to Volánbus. This was also within a 12-piece order. The Ikarus 120e is a twelve-meter, low-floor, two-axle, electrically driven bus that can carry 86 passengers and travel nearly 300 kilometers on a single charge.
10 new BYD electric buses were handed over in Miskolc at the beginning of August. The investment was realized with 70 percent of tender money, HUF 2.1 billion. According to the promises, the fleet will later be expanded with new solo buses, and articulated versions will also be put on the market if the city’s application for this is successful.
