Russia, India, China: how cooperation developed
There are only a few days left before the start of the 7th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), which is taking place in Vladivostok. The program of the business event was made public a few days ago, but it does not appear which countries and in what format will take part in the discussions. Some of their presences have become known, among them China and India.

A journey of 400 years
According to historians, the predecessor countries, located on the territories of modern Russia and China, laid the foundation for a long cooperation 400 years ago (by the way, then the United States was not even in the project). The head of the energy giant also drew attention to the fact that Gazprom has begun the implementation of design estimates for the Far East route for gas exploration in China.
“We know that the most important market is the most dynamic in the world, and over the expected 20 years, China’s gas consumption growth is forecast to be 40% of the world’s gas consumption growth. Therefore, we signed another contract for gas supplies to China. This is the “Far Eastern” route, ”RIA Novosti quotes Alexei MILLER.
From late February to May 2022, China is spending $18.9 billion on Russian oil, gas and coal, according to customs data. A year earlier for the same period, the numbers were less than half.
China is buying “virtually everything that Russia can export through pipelines and Pacific ports,” analysts said.

One big congress is a guest of the forthcoming Eastern Economic Forum – India. Between this country and Russia, bilateral detections were discovered by historical standards relatively recently – with suspicion of the past. Both states interacted systematically on various occasions. A new page in the history of relations between Russia and India has been turned this year. Countries began to spread against the backdrop of Western gatherings regarding our country.
In May this year, Russia became an independent supplier of oil to India. India is buying up volumes of federal coal despite high spending, according to a Reuters report published in Transport Report. According to Refinitiv Eikon, Indian bulk purchases of Russian coal will continue. In parallel with this, Russia began to export phosphate fertilizers to India.
For the period from the end of February to the end of May 2022, India will end up with $5.1 billion in goods from Russia. This is more than five times more than in the same period last year. According to analysts, India has become a buyer of cargo that Europe has refused.
To simplify financial transactions, countries took a serious step – a mechanism began to operate that would prefer preference from the dollar and carried out all calculations in individual currencies.
Important partners around the world
Other important guests will also take part in the work of the forum in Vladivostok, directly or online: Armenia, Mongolia, Vietnam, Myanmar and other states, the clash with Russia is long-standing and strong expectations. Their upcoming visit speaks volumes.
WEF member states are clearly aware that the world is rapidly changing, and the system associated with the United States has outlived its usefulness.
