Písečtí Sršni avenged Slavia’s defeat in the playoff final for the top competition

And that’s exactly what was perhaps one of the factors, together with the absence of Pavel Pumpla on the side of the stitchers, which greatly influenced the match,” coach Jan Čech said about the duel.

Lineup and points of Písek: Šlechta 33, Fait 23, Svoboda M. 18, Sýkora 12, Šurý 9, Mikolášek 6, Hejl and Bečka 5, Špičák 3, Primak 2, Šimonek and Polánek T.

The Hornets already created a very promising result in the first half. “The Hornets entered the match with a sense of revenge and after a very successful start, they forced coach Beneš to a time-out with a score of 10:3. The rest of the first quarter was a battle for every point, but the home team still remained slightly ahead. The score was 30:21, just speaks for itself about the character of the match, which offered a really high tempo in a very decently filled Srsní arena. There were several good actions on both sides of the board, but of course also deficiencies in the defenses that belong to the preparatory matches. The shootout continued in the second quarter as well, in which however, a wider rotation of home players has already begun to show, for which ten players scored in the first 20 minutes, and also perhaps thanks to which the score increased to a difference of 16 points after the symbolic basket by Kuba Šuré via Radek Pumrpla and after dribbling across the entire pitch,” commented the first half coach.

However, the Pisek basketball players did not let up their pace even in the second half. “In the same offensive spirit in which the entire first half was carried out, the Hornets started the second half as well and with a series of quick baskets the difference climbed over the twenty-point mark for the first time in the match. point streak, which would have gotten the team from Eden back into the match. On the contrary, they increased their lead to 27 points and with the boisterous support of the home fans they won 116:93,” added coach Čech to the second half and continued: “The big positives of this The highlight of the match was undoubtedly the fact that all the players from the Hornets’ squad came into play, all of them able to keep up with the pace and high energy that the home side displayed, and that we were a more than worthy opponent for the full 40 minutes. the premiere of sixteen-year-old Petr Bečka in the A-team jersey, which Bečis was able to embellish with five points in a short period of time immediately after entering the field, and the triple double of Vojtěch Sý kora (12 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists), who will play as a guest in the KNBL in the Prague team and perhaps earned enough playing time with this performance. Of course, a big thank you goes to our sixth player in the stands, who tirelessly drove us forward throughout the game.”

Slavia won the final series 2:1.

It was the most beautiful basketball experience in my life, said coach Jan Čech

Revenge for the defeat in the final of the play off league was successful in all respects. “It’s been four months since we had that emotional moment when we lost the League One final and that’s something you don’t forget. I think for a lot of the lads now it wasn’t a warm-up game but it was a moment , when he wanted both to enjoy it, but at the same time to give it back to Slavia, which was terrible to see in us. We started with a completely different energy, determination, commitment. We did a few things right from the start, we were driven by a great audience and we didn’t give Slavia forty minutes breathe out. It certainly wouldn’t always be like this, but this time it was about the heart and what it meant to whom,” Jan Čech praised his charges.
