They called about eleven thousand students in the institutions of the Vocational Training Center in Debrecen
In the spirit of togetherness, the organizer will once again organize the opening ceremony of the central school year, which was hosted by the 165-year-old SZC Bethlen Gábor Közgazdasági Technikum in Debrecen.
– You, the students in vocational training, provide the backbone of the economy, but we want you to become exploratory adults as well. In addition to your profession, you should also have dreams. Debrecen is going through a significant economic transformation, new jobs are being created, business companies are opening their doors one after the other. These are offers to make your dreams come true – said László György, State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, in his greeting. The politician explained that, in addition to the economic life of the city of Cívis, it is important that ideally developed businesses provide it with the right amount and quality of qualified professionals. In connection with this, the Teach for Hungary program, whose aim is to introduce students to the world of a profession and profession, highlighted the fact that more children from smaller, disadvantaged settlements decide to continue their education after completing the eighth grade. – In Hungary today, obtaining two professions and one vocational qualification is free. and the Debrecen Vocational Training Center is at the forefront, as 2,400 of its 11,000 students participate in adult training, he added.
Vocational training is also an important economic factor
Parliament member László Pósán, chairman of the Parliament’s Cultural Committee, said in his speech: the older an institution’s past, the more certain its future is based on it.
– In addition to the fact that the vocational training system nationally took a fortunate direction, Debrecen was faced with great challenges. Progress had to be made much faster here, as things appeared overnight that made them outstanding in the world, emphasized the father-in-law, who illustrated businesses through the example of the BMW factory: local education had to respond immediately to the German giant’s investment, and a new starting new courses, so that a qualified workforce will be available for the opening of the factory in Debrecen. – DSZC’s results so far served as an excellent reference for a factory larger than BMW to come to the city – he added.
– Since 215, the number of students in DSZC has increased by 46. 60 percent of graduates can immediately find a job in their profession, 30 percent continue their education, and the remaining 10 percent enter the world of work in a related profession – deputy mayor Lajos Barcsa summarized his past data. The city manager pointed out: the challenges of vocational training institutions are no longer “fishing” for students, but the initiation of developments and expansions adapted to the ever-increasing number of students, as well as the filling of approximately 16,000 jobs that have appeared in the past 5-6 years, and preparation for the future. “Fortunately, the Government of Hungary is also on the side of institutional development: there are currently three investments under planning or before implementation within the framework of the DSZC,” he added.
The future is created within the walls of the institutions
– When we established our vocational training center in 2015, we formulated the goal that vocational training is the future. In 2022, the most important slogan of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation is: we create the future together. In this way, within vocational training, we realize our future together – said Zsolt Tirpák. In his speech, the chancellor of the DSZC said that behind the dynamic development and vibrant operation of vocational training in Debrecen, there is also a serious and active economic environment in the city. – The structure of the government measures, we were able to create a vocational training structure that is compatible with economic needs. In itself, teaching a profession is only one half of success. The other is that we can show our students a career path, a vision of the future, and opportunities, he pointed out. Tamásné László Tóth, the director of the host institution, emphasized in her welcome that it is important for them to face new challenges and tasks. For this, if necessary, the curriculum is modernized and new professions are introduced. Emphasis is placed on foreign languages - in addition to traditional world languages, Chinese is taught at the institution – as well as the development of digital competences and career guidance.
