Prague 5 had a structural plan drawn up PRAGUE 5 | News
The City Hall of Prague 5 had a structural plan drawn up. This is to serve as a supporting document for possible objections and appeals in proceedings when the developer does not proceed according to the approved rules of the city district.
“For example, we have valuable villa districts, and our goal is that the current villas are not replaced by oversized housing projects. In practice, this means that a developer buys the land of an older villa and tries to demolish it and replace it with a bulky residential building, which would degrade the entire area,” he said Zdeněk Doležal – councilor of Prague 5 municipal council.
As part of the development of the locality, the document is also intended to help ensure the necessary civic and public amenities.
“Like, for example, a kindergarten, like some public space, civic amenities or areas for commercial civic amenities, so that the city district knows this in advance and can warn everyone about it in advance,” said Vojtěch Novotný – the drafter of the structural plan.
The document thus represents a kind of overview of what is new in the development of the district, what the plans are and whether and how they can be implemented.
“It is an open document, so I am very much looking forward to the fact that during the update there will also be some substantial discussion about where the city part should go. There are also ideas about the hierarchy of the public space, there are ideas about how to ensure traffic service and it is also partly about the character, what is the target character,” said Lukáš Vacek – head of the Department of Territorial Development.
The town hall wants to talk to the citizens of Prague 5 about possible changes to the district. The first meeting with them should take place in early autumn, in September or October. The exact date of the town hall publication on its website.
