POLITICIANS IN THEIR OWN WORDS The Mayor of Prague for the Pirates on his Facebook page on August 26 about the average age of the candidates
I am therefore glad that we have a strong representation of the young generation on the pirate list. The average age of our male and female candidates is 10 years lower than that of the competition!
It is proof that politics is really open to everyone, regardless of age. And that’s right! Young people are a great asset in politics, because they bring new ideas and views of the world to it. At the same time, in today’s world we face completely new challenges and they need support.
We must not leave them alone. We must continue to focus on topics that strongly affect young people. Whether it is preparing our city for climate change, fighting the housing crisis or supporting equal rights and opportunities.
PS: Adam Zábranský, the youngest councilor in the city’s history, is now in charge of the Pirates, who has shown very well that a skilled young person can be a great politician.
