Russia may use special air corridors for flights to Sochi and Turkey
The authorities allocated part of the airspace, which was closed due to a special operation in Ukraine, for flights to southern Russia and Turkey.
Moscow, August 28 – IA Neftegaz.RU. The authorities of the Russian Federation will discuss the possibility of directing routes from Moscow to the south of Russia and to Turkey for aircraft through separate air corridors.
It is reported by RBC with reference to sources in the airlines.
The authorities allocated part of the airspace, which was closed due to a special operation in Ukraine, for flights to southern Russia and Turkey.
According to RBC sources, this topic was discussed at the State Corporation’s identification meetings on the totality of air movements with the occurrence.
The meeting will take place on 29 August.
The Federal Air Transport Agency does not comment on these data.
Recall that since February 24, flights have been closed at 11 southern airports: in Anapa, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Gelendzhik, Krasnodar, Kursk, Lipetsk, Rostov-on-Don, Simferopol and Elista.
Sochi airport did not close, but the flight time from Moscow to Sochi increased significantly due to the rerouting.
In Sochi, it is reduced to 2.5 hours, not 4 hours.
The duration of the Turkish period may also decrease.
