The two teenagers, aged 15 and 18, lost their lives on Monday, hit by an ambulance while riding a scooter on the bus lane at the Maréchal Joffre platform.
The appointment was given at 2 p.m. on Place Bellecour. Family, friends or even simple anonymous upset by the drama had come to say goodbye to Iris and Warren.
While a banner where a photo of the young couple was installed at the start of the procession, the father of Iris first took the floor to explain the course of the white march. “It’s a huge wound“, he said calling on participants to bring flowers, a balloon or a portrait of the two young victims to come and drop off at the scene of the tragedy. Just before departure, a singer performed “Amazing Grace”.
The procession finally took the direction of the rue Saint Exupéry in music sometimes sober, sometimes more joyful despite the circumstances.
A passage by the quai Tilsitt preceded the arrival on the quai Maréchal Joffre where Iris and Warren were mowed down in circumstances that the investigation continues to establish.
The flowers and photos were placed along the quay where the inscription “In memory of Iris and Warren” was visible. Inconsolable, Warren’s father nevertheless wanted to thank the hundreds of participants.
A release of balloons in the sky makes a success of this time of immense emotion accompanied by the words”A sweet song that my mom sang to myself…“.
