A real sports field is created from a run-down patch used for occasional body stretching. The area in Práčská street has been newly aligned, expanded and modified. In addition, Prague 10 has hung basketball baskets here, and soon there will be net posts for volleyball, tennis and netball. This was informed by the deputy mayor of Prague 10, Jana Komrsková (Pirates), who is responsible for the environment and sports at the Vrshovice town hall.
The site near the scout clubhouse originally functioned as a playground for an unorganized game of ball sports. In the past, the 10th district added soccer goals and fencing to prevent the ball from flying out of the field.
“Then the scouts approached us saying that they would welcome it if we made the patch even bigger. During the holidays, we leveled the entire area and partially expanded it. We’ve just added basketball hoops and the next step will be to put the poles on the net for tennis, volleyball or netball. The field will be serviced by representatives of the clubhouse,” said Komrsková.
There are also new benches on the gravel surface for team sports substitutes and for possible relaxation, and there is also a trash can.
