The All-Russian tourist route “Many Faces of Russia” was discussed in Ryazan
On August 24, a meeting dedicated to the development and launch of the All-Russian cultural and tourist route “Many Faces of Russia” was held at the Ryazan Regional Gorky Library. It will operate in 2023 on the territory of four federal districts of the Russian Federation and will become available to visitors to ethnographic and cultural museums.
Libraries of representatives of museums, experts in the field of cultural tourism, specialists in the field of folk art and folklore from four federal districts of the Russian Federation gathered in the Gorky Hall. It is these federal districts – Central, Northwestern, Volga and Southern – that will start in the federal project next year. The federal coordinators of the project also took part in the composition: General Director of the State Ethnographic Museum Yulia Kupina, Head of the State Russian House of Folk Art Tamara Purtova, Vice-President of the Russian Tourism Industry Association Olga Kupina.
Alla Manilova, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, spoke about the project “Many Faces of Russia”:
“Regions with a pronounced middle culture are the essence of this route. Ryazan is one of the leading cities, it has an excellent logistical location, there are federal museums here. Together, these arguments were detained today in Ryazan.
Indicated by the President in 2022, declared the Year of the Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia. Hundreds of events – concerts, exhibitions and others – take place throughout the country. But at the same time, we understand that this Year must have its own legacy.
This is how the project of a fundamentally new all-Russian cultural and tourist route was born at the place of existence of historical culture and folk art crafts – “Many Faces of Russia”. Probably, among all Russian cultural and tourism projects, this will be the largest route. It will be held in all federal districts, because all regions have something to offer. It is important that this is not just a line on the map. This is a global project, which is woven from the nearest routes.”
Alla Yuryevna added that the coordinators in Ryazan will talk about the proposals they received from the regions. We will focus on those that most vividly and convincingly consume the diversity of our country’s cultures. These are about 200 cultures living in the peoples of Russia. And tour operators with instructions on how to put this “content” into tourist routes. Based on the results of the meeting, they should decide which regions and cultural institutions will be included in the route in 2023.
Vice Governor of the Ryazan Region Artem Branov:
“The All-Russian route “Many Faces of Russia” is a great initiative. The Ryazan region supports it from the first day, the first application for participation in the project. I hope that everyone will support them, everyone will be included in the mandatory route. The Ryazan region is the area of application. In terms of trades and crafts, we have absolutely exclusive things – for example, Kadomsky veniz, Mikhailovsky lace. This route should definitely pass through the Ryazan region.”
