On Sunday, Czechs and Slovaks commemorated the anniversary of the occupation by Warsaw Pact troops. In the evening in Prague, at the exhibition center in Holešovice, they organized a concert called NeverMore 68. The event commemorated not only the events of August 21, 1968, but was also dedicated to February 24, 2022, i.e. the beginning of Russia’s occupation of Ukraine.

The concert was right in front of the Industrial Palace, where the stage stood, there were refreshment stands on the square in front of the palace, which is lined with trees. The concert started at five o’clock in the afternoon.

Czech performers at the concert included, for example, the group Nylon Jail, singer Ivan Hajniš, who emigrated to Austria after the occupation and then lived in Sweden for several years. Also Lenka Dusilová, Jaroslav Hutka or Hudba Praha. The concert also featured Ukrainian artists, such as the group Brunettes Shoot Blondes.
The concert was accompanied by an exhibition of large-format photographs of Prague from 1968 as well as photographs from the current war in Ukraine. These photos connect and destroyed houses and visitors found them immediately upon arriving at the fairgrounds.
Visitors pay a voluntary entrance fee and could contribute to the support of Ukraine. Using pasted QR codes, people contributed symbolic amounts, 1968 or 68 crowns, which went to the account of the Ukrainian embassy.
