Budapest – Whether there will be evening fireworks in the capital depends on the weather.
Celebrations, bread consecration and many other events are being held across the country today, on the occasion of the founding of the state, St. Stephen’s Day. The National Meteorological Service asks those preparing for events to follow the weather and danger signals.

As part of the central celebration, the St. Stephen’s Day festival, which lasts several days, continues in the capital. The operative tribe responsible for the safe conduct of the national holiday on August 20 meets continuously and, depending on the weather, will immediately inform the public of any changes.
According to Katalin Novák’s plans for the presidency of the republic, the national flag will be raised at 8 a.m. on Lajos Kossuth square in front of the Parliament, in addition to a military salute. However, due to the expected unfavorable weather conditions, the experts of the Hungarian Armed Forces have decided that the air parade planned for 9 am will not be cancelled.
