Toulouse. The police in the fight against urban rodeos
Several operations aimed at curbing the phenomenon of urban rodeos took place in Toulouse on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 August.
The national police announces that it has carried out several operations aimed at curbing the phenomenon of urban rodeos in Toulouse. They took place on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 August. From the first night, the police checked 54 vehicles. This action gave rise to 32 verbalizations, two immobilizations, six seizures of vehicles and six arrests.

But the national police did not stop there. She continued operations against urban rodeos in the streets of Toulouse the following evening. This time, the police made two arrests.
An intensification of operations against urban rodeos
During a trip to Marseille, the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin announced, Monday August 8, an intensification of operations against urban rodeos throughout France.
“I mean that the government has a very firm hand against not these urban rodeos which are presented as a positive word, as if it were a spectacle, but against these often criminal acts that come to killwho comes to very seriously bless women, children,” said the Minister of the Interior.
An accident in Pontoise in the Val-d’Oise
Gérald Darmanin’s announcement follows an accident that occurred the previous weekend. While playing on the esplanade of their neighborhood, in Pontoise in Val-d’Oise, a 7-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy were knocked down by a motorcycle participating in an urban rodeo. They were seriously injured. The girl ended up in a coma with her released on Monday, August 15.
An 18-year-old man was found to be responsible for the accident. He was indicted on the count of “unintentional injuries resulting in total incapacity for work for more than three months” aggravated by hit-and-run and breach of security obligations.
