According to Chabra, the work should relate to the repair of roofs. Even so, the councilor writes on Facebook that the fate of the historic building is still uncertain.
“However, there is still the possibility of expropriation if there is further neglect of the care of this architectural monument. We are closely monitoring the entire situation and the events surrounding it,” Chabr added.
In the past, Prague tried to buy the station building, but the asking price of the then owner greatly exceeded the price set by the expert opinion. The last attempt to acquire the building was a proposal to exchange it for city land, but here the situation was already complicated by the arrival of a new owner, a company from Cyprus.
The station building was built between 1904 and 1905, the station’s operation was stopped in May 1960. The building, which was declared a cultural monument in 2000, has been in private hands since 2007. Restoring the original function is not possible, because modern standards do not allow to place a station in an arch. Instead, the city is planning a train stop at Výton.
